Washington Review Update, October 7, 2013

Washington Review
Over the weekend I joined 195 of my Congressional colleagues in sending a letter to Speaker John Boehner, urging him to allow a vote on the Senate-passed continuing resolution (CR). The Senate-passed CR would immediately reopen the government and keep current funding levels through November 15, 2013. Now in the 7th day of a government shutdown, it is imperative that Speaker Boehner allow an up or down vote on a clean CR without any toxic provisions attached, such as defunding or delaying the Affordable Care Act. I will continue to keep you updated on the progress of debates here in Washington, D.C.
