Congressman Sires Announces Over $2 Million Grant for Newark Community Health Center
(Washington, D.C.) – Today, Congressman Albio Sires announced that Newark Community Health Centers, Inc. received a $2,534,540 grant by the Department of Health and Human Services, through the Health Resource and Services Administration (HRSA) Health Center Cluster grant program.
“Newark Community Health Center plays a major role in delivering essential health care to the people of Newark and the surrounding area,” Said Congressman Sires. “This federal funding grant from the Department of Health and Human Services will help Newark Community Health Center to continue offering quality, affordable health services to residents in the 8th District.”
The federal funds awarded through this grant can be used to help continue operations for health centers across the country. The purpose of this grant is to provide financial assistance to Health Centers so they can continue offering comprehensive services in underserved communities.
